Neena serves as the Program Director for the Center on Domestic Violence. She brings over 30 years of experience in international humanitarian assistance and global health having served as Program Manager, Country Medical Director, Health Sector Lead, and Technical Advisor with many international organizations throughout Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. These included Medecins Sans Frontieres/Doctors Without Borders, International Medical Corps, Australian Aid International, Save The Children, and World Health Organization, among others. Committed to the ingenuity and skill of marginalized communities in creating and leading their own proven solutions, she founded and directed a global nonprofit dedicated to emboldening locally-led entities which impacted 1,000,000+ community members, involved over 90 partnerships, won 6 global awards, and published meaningful thought leadership.

Board-certified in Emergency Medicine, Neena practiced as an Attending Physician at Swedish Medical Center and Denver Health Medical Center Emergency Departments, both Level I Trauma Centers. She developed programmatic structure and taught innovative core content as Director and Deputy Director for the Program in Humanitarian Assistance and Adjunct Faculty for the Global Health Affairs Program at the University of Denver Korbel School of International Studies and as Senior Clinical Instructor at the University of Colorado Denver Health Sciences Center. Neena also completed epidemiologic studies and public health projects as an Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) Officer with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Neena has served on the boards of many nonprofits and volunteered locally and internationally. Her focus is social determinants of health, strategic and systems thinking, collaborations to strengthen locally-led solutions, equity and social justice. 

Neena completed a BA in Human Biology at Stanford University, MS in Tropical Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health, MD at SUNY Brooklyn Health Sciences Center, Diploma in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and Executive Certificate in Public Leadership from Harvard John F. Kennedy School of Government.
