Bio

Chris Smith serves as the Director of Faculty Affairs for the School of Public Affairs. She provides operational leadership for faculty affairs processes and actions, including interpreting, implementing and ensuring compliance with university, campus, and school level policies. Chris manages the entire faculty lifecycle process from recruitment to appointment, reappointment, sabbaticals, promotion and tenure, and annual review of the school’s faculty. She is also responsible for faculty personnel and payroll administration.
 
In addition to faculty affairs, she also oversees the Dean’s strategic annual scheduling and supervises the Dean’s Office operations coordinator, who manages the day-to-day scheduling requests for the Dean.
 
Chris has worked for the University of Colorado Denver for over 25 years. She started her career in the Office of Provost/Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs overseeing and managing faculty affairs for almost 10 years before joining the School of Public Affairs in 2006.
