The field of criminology and criminal justice addresses the nature and causes of crime and the administration and impacts of our criminal justice system. The School of Public Affairs faculty are experts in areas such as law enforcement and policing reform, crime data analysis, gender-based violence, victimology, and white-collar crime, and our alumni are represented in organizations across the criminal justice spectrum from federal investigative agencies to community nonprofits.

CU Denver School of Public Affairs hosts event on technology in the criminal justice system
Oct 9, 2019 byRoughly 80 people from CU Denver and the surrounding community attended the Criminal Justice Series Event, “Technology in the Criminal Justice System,” on September 30, 2019. The Criminal Justice Program, hosted by CU Denver School of Public Affairs, featured three panelists in the event: Andrew J. Contiguglia, a defense attorney with decades of experience in state and federal courts; Michelle Means, a federal probation officer for the District of Colorado; and Paul Taylor, an Assistant Professor at the CU Denver School of Public Affairs and former law enforcement officer. School of Public Affairs rises in national rankings, retains no. 1 spot in Colorado
Mar 12, 2019 byU.S. News & World Report today released its 2020 Best Graduate Schools Rankings, in which University of Colorado Denver School of Public Affairs advanced nine places since the 2018 rankings to tie for the number 25 position in the nation for overall public affairs programs. Center on Domestic Violence honors two women who strengthened legal rights for domestic violence victims
