  • Trophy for Top 25 ranking

    For second year in a row, School of Public Affairs places in Top 25 in national rankings

    U.S. News & World Report today released its 2021 Best Graduate Schools Rankings, in which University of Colorado Denver School of Public Affairs maintains its position from last year: tied at number 25 in the nation for overall public affairs programs. The 2021 ranking positions the School of Public Affairs alongside Duke University, Florida State University, Georgetown University, University of Kentucky, University of Maryland–College Park, University of Nebraska–Omaha and University of Wisconsin–Madison. Additionally, the ranking sustains the school’s position as the top public affairs school in Colorado.

  • Students learn about public service through lens of international development during study abroad in Africa

    Five students from CU Denver were joined by students from CU Boulder, Rollins College in Florida, and St. Edward’s University in Texas for a study abroad experience in East Africa. Participants were challenged to think differently and bigger about public service from the perspective of international development. Taking an interdisciplinary lens to East Africa, students listened and thought about the role that public management, public health and public service play in urban and rural communities.

    First Friday Breakfast event centered on homeless in metro Denver

    The University of Colorado Denver School of Public Affairs hosted its September First Friday Breakfast on September 6, 2019, as a kick off to the seven-event series for this academic year. The event brought together an expert panel to discuss ‘Homelessness in Metro Denver: Policy, Prevention and Regional Approaches.’ The three-member panel was moderated by Lisa VanRaemdonck, the Executive Director of the CU Denver School of Public Affairs Institute and featured Cathy Alderman, Vice President of Communications and Public Policy for Colorado Coalition for the Homeless; Mark Deven, City Manager for the City of Arvada; and Britta Fisher, Chief Housing Officer for the City and County of Denver.
