Karen Gerrity

Lecturer

Karen Gerrity is a leader in nonprofit and government management with over 35 years of experience. Most recently employed as the Town Administrator of Nederland, Colorado, she served this mountain community during a pandemic, the worst wildfires in Boulder County history, and a house explosion in the Big Springs subdivision. Karen Gerrity and the Town of Nederland partnered with local, state, and federal agencies, including the Boulder County Office of Disaster Management, Boulder County Public Health Department, Colorado Resiliency Office, the Boulder County Bomb Squad, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to respond to these emergencies. Prior to being a Town Administrator, Karen Gerrity was the Cultural Affairs Manager for the City and County of Broomfield. She also served as the Deputy Director of the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District, a seven-county special tax district. 

Karen Gerrity holds an MS in Cultural Foundations of Education from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and was the founding business manager for the private, nonprofit school Boulder Country Day School, where she served for 13 years.
