Arthur “Skip” Arms’ career spanned 34 years with the Colorado Springs Police Department, when he retired as a Division Commander in 2013. In addition to serving in Patrol as an Officer, Sergeant, Lieutenant and Commander, Skip also spent time in Homicide, General Investigations, Internal Affairs, Community Relations and the Public Information Office. As a Commander, Skip spent time in the Information Services Division and the Specialized Enforcement Division which included SWAT, K-9, Gang Unit, Motorcycle Unit, Major Accident Unit, Special Events, the Bomb Unit and the Airport Police.

Skip has a Master of Public Administration from University of Colorado, Colorado Springs and a bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University, Pueblo in Business Management. He has been an instructor at University of Colorado, Colorado Springs for approximately six years, teaching various courses in the Criminal Justice program. Skip also currently serves on the Arapahoe County Community Corrections Review Board.
