Dr. McCann is an experienced public and non-profit leader in the regulatory, public health, health care, and human services fields. She has more than 15 years of experience in public policy and management consulting, executive and program management, strategic planning, board and stakeholder group management, research and writing, and team leadership for a variety of public and non-profit organizations. These include state and local governments, public health departments, health care organizations, non-profit organizations, and international organizations. 

She has completed a PhD in Public Affairs, inclusive of the Public Policy, Management, and Administration fields, an interdisciplinary MS in Public and Business Administration, an MA in Social Anthropology, and a BA in Political Science. She continues to teach masters’ and undergraduate-level courses in Public Affairs.

Dr. McCann has a breadth of experience working on policy and management projects with the Colorado Department of Revenue, the City and County of Denver, Denver Health, the Mile High Health Alliance, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and other organizations. She also has many years of international program management experience with UNHCR.  She enjoys applying her strong academic training and wide experience to the practical needs of state and local governments and non-profit organizations for short-term assistance with important policy-writing and management needs.
