Heather Garwood has spent 20 years working in criminal justice in Colorado. She started in non-profit, administering a restorative justice conferencing program for juveniles under community supervision. She then worked in the 19th Judicial District Probation Department in Greeley, first in victims’ services and later as a probation officer, supervising both adult and juvenile probationers. Finally, she spent 12 years in Colorado’s State Court Administrator’s Office, providing training and supporting evidence-based and evidence-informed policy and program development and implementation across Colorado’s 22 judicial districts. She now owns her own consulting business and is a current appointee to Colorado’s Justice Assistance Grant board. Heather is a 2018 graduate of CU Denver’s School of Public Affairs Master of Public Administration Executive Program.
