Lauren Dunn is an experienced public sector leader with a passion for economic equity and creating opportunity for children and families. She started her career in Washington, D.C., where she had the honor of serving for three years as a policy aide in President Obama’s White House Domestic Policy Council, and also as the Deputy Director of the DC Promise Neighborhood Initiative, a start-up non-profit designing a cradle to career pipeline of supports for children. After relocating to Denver, Lauren most recently served as a Senior Advisor and the Chief of Staff at Denver Public Schools. In this role, she was a member of the executive leadership team and the principal aide in the Office of the Superintendent, supporting policy development and governance for the District. Previously she served as the Deputy Chief of Staff, playing a lead role in the identification and monitoring of academic strategies, and managing a high-priority 2016 local tax initiative to provide much needed resources to support Denver’s students. She has also consulted for federal, state and local government agencies including the U.S. National Park Service, the State of Minnesota's Department of Human Services, and New York City's Department of Small Business Services. Lauren holds a bachelor of arts in comparative religion from Tufts University, a bachelor of fine arts in studio art from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, a master in public affairs with a certificate in health and health policy from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs, and a master in educational leadership from the Broad Center for the Management of Urban Education Systems.
