Julia Cummings, PhD candidate and lecturer in the University of Colorado Denver's School of Public Affairs, excels in helping public organizations and causes establish and achieve their communication and marketing objectives. Her research interests focus on how political narratives and imagery impact public opinion, civic engagement and voting behavior. She takes a collaborative approach to directing complex marketing and communications initiatives with proven ability to seek diverse and authentic stakeholder input. She earned an MBA with a marketing emphasis from CU Denver and a BA in Humanities, magna cum laude, from CU Boulder. She has worked at CU Denver since 2007 as the School of Education & Human Development's marketing and communication director. Her previous work experience includes marketing and public affairs roles at the Smithsonian Institution, National Audubon Society and the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. In her personal time, she volunteers for political campaigns and Jefferson County School District.
