Emily Brixey graduated from the University of Colorado Denver with a PhD in Public Affairs. Her doctoral dissertation and academic research centered around tax revenue policy, public policy processes, and policy outcomes. Before joining the School of Public Affairs, Emily worked as a budget analyst at the Oregon State Capitol. Emily has worked in education policy for the last five years. She is currently a Senior Manager of Policy, Advocacy and Research at KnowledgeWorks and previously worked at Education Commission of the States. Emily has presented her research at annual conferences including the Association for Education Finance and Policy, the Association for Budgeting and Financial Management, and the American Society for Public Administration. She frequently applies her research skills to support education policy leaders.
