Tierney Bamrick

Tierney Bamrick is a Ph.D. Candidate focused on nonprofits, arts and culture, and civil society, informed by her experience as a professional musician and nonprofit manager.  She is particularly interested in understanding how public funding shapes the arts sector and how arts nonprofits relate to the public. Her work has appeared in the journal Nonprofit Management and Leadership, and she is a member of the Colorado Nonprofit Research Panel team. She teaches courses in public and nonprofit management, including organizational theory and behavior, evidence-based decision making, and public/nonprofit budgeting. Alongside her research and teaching, Tierney also takes on program evaluation projects. She has a bachelor’s in music from Vanderbilt University, a master’s in opera performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a master’s in sociology from the University of Mississippi. Tierney was raised in the U.S. South and Midwest and now lives in the Denver area with her partner and their dog.
