William L. Swann is an assistant professor in the School of Public Affairs at the University of Colorado Denver. His PhD in public administration is from Florida State University. He holds an MPA from the University of Rhode Island and a BSBA in finance from Bryant University.
His research focuses on urban sustainability, public management and collaborative governance. Most of his research examines the motivations, constraints and consequences associated with sustainability policies and programs in local communities, and can be found in some of the leading public administration and urban studies journals. He is also currently involved in collaborative research projects studying performance management in state government, local policy approaches to the opioid epidemic and the nexus of food, energy and water systems in local development.
He teaches research methods, organizational management and financial management courses. He was named a 2015 Staats Emerging Scholar by the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA).
