“Gun Violence: Prevention and Policy”

Tuesday, October 24, 2023

Terrace Room (2nd floor), Lawrence Street Center

1380 Lawrence St, Denver, CO 80204

Factors that contribute to gun violence exist at multiple levels, including individual, family, school, community, other institutions, and at the societal/cultural level. Policy responses range from addressing mental health to school and family interventions to laws like red flag laws and safe storage laws. Some gun violence prevention issues are highly partisan, while others are less so. Reducing gun violence requires collaboration among stakeholders and bipartisan cooperation. Gun violence prevention is possible, but it requires a multi-faceted policy response that addresses the complexity of the problem.

Join us to learn what policies are currently being considered and enacted to reduce gun violence in Colorado and to discover where the opportunities for cooperation are the greatest.
