 Colorado’s Legislative Accomplishments in 2021

During our final First Friday event of the 2020-21 academic year, we will discuss and assess this year’s activities and accomplishments of our Colorado Legislature.

With COVID-19, it has been an unusual session, to say the least. But a lot has happened. We will examine the impact of having more money this year, as compared to last year—and even compared to most years in Colorado. How did that impact the budget? What were the other most important legislative initiatives? What progress was made on economic stimulus, health care, gun violence, taxes, social equity, pandemic relief, and other issues?

Some argue that when a single party controls all institutions in Colorado, it tends to “go too far” with legislation. Was this the case with Democrats this year?

Please join our expert panel for a discussion on these topics.
