On December 10, the SPA PhD Student Association hosted its annual Zoom Scholar Series event. Each fall, a student-nominated scholar is invited to present their research. This year’s selected scholar was Dr. Pamela Herd of Georgetown University. Dr. Herd is one of the principal investigators for General Social Survey, an investigator with the Wisconsin Longitudinal Survey, chair of the NIH Data Advisory Board for the National Study of Adolescent Health, and a board member for the Population Association of American. Her research focuses on inequality and how it intersects with health, aging, and policy. She presented “Racialized Burdens: Applying Racialized Organization Theory to the Administrative State.”
