PhD student Stephanie Bultema published an article in the American Journal of Public Health, co-authored with two colleagues in Washington state. The article, “Accountable Communities of Health, Health and Social Service Systems Alignment, and Population Health: Eastern Washington State, 2017–2019”, shows how Accountable Communities of Health (ACHs) can successfully align health and social service systems by reducing working siloes, increasing organizational engagement in population health improvement efforts, and improving inter-organizational connectivity. It adds to the current knowledge base about the ACH model, the importance of backbone organizations in aligning systems for health, and the utility of network analysis for measuring health system transformation.
