The series brings together scholars, election administrators, journalists, and policy experts for timely public conversations.
Sep 28, 2026
This fall, the University of Colorado Denver School of Public Affairs’ First Friday series will feature two conversations focused on Colorado’s 2026 election, helping attendees better understand the issues, processes, and outcomes shaping the state’s future.
The series will be led by University of Colorado Distinguished Professor and former SPA Dean Paul Teske.
The first event, "Before the Ballots: Understanding Colorado's 2026 Election," will take place on October 2, 2026. Teske will moderate a discussion with a panel of election administrators and policy experts examining how Colorado’s election process works and breaking down the key ballot questions, including what each measure could do if it passes.
The conversation continues on November 6, 2026, with "After the Ballots: Understanding Colorado's 2026 Election." Following Election Day, Teske will lead a panel of experts in examining the results and what comes next.
Drawing on his extensive experience in Colorado public affairs and research on state and local policy, Teske will guide both conversations to provide context and insight into one of the state's most consequential civic events.
Registration (in person and virtual) is open for both events, which are part of the School of Public Affairs' ongoing First Friday series connecting the university and community through timely discussions on public policy and governance.
