In 2020, the School of Public Affairs offered an opportunity for recent alumni to form an advisory board to expand opportunities for alumni to provide programmatic input and offer guidance on strengthening our alumni connections. The SPA GOLD Board (Graduates of the Last Decade) formally launched in February 2021 and includes 26 alumni from across almost all academic programs who have stepped forward to volunteer their time in service to the school. While this first year is primarily about board development and organization, committee work has also started addressing professional development, community building and diversity, equity, inclusion.

Special thanks go to Seth Kelly (Chair), Monica Cutler (Secretary), Casey Evans (Community Committee Chair), Heather Blue Richey (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Committee Chair) and Katie Singleton (Professional Development Committee Chair) for your leadership. Thank you also to all the members of the Bylaws Committee, who are working hard to create a foundation for this board that will lead to its lasting impact on SPA.
