April First Friday with the School of Public Affairs: The Post-Pandemic Future of Downtown Denver

Downtown areas thrive on density, human interaction at close scale, and the vibrancy that people bring to a place. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, downtown Denver was booming. Plans in the making over many years were coming together, as office buildings, hotels, and other projects were filling in surface parking lots and other downtown spaces.
With the pause that the pandemic has put on those plans, what can we expect once public health guidance deems it safe to congregate in downtown Denver?
How many people will return to work in office spaces, and how often? What will be the impact on the downtown restaurant and entertainment scenes? And how about taxes that fund public services, such as transit? What can we learn from other cities or related examples?
