September First Friday with the School of Public Affairs: Leading Toward Equity - Stories of Organizational Change

| 12:00 PM - 01:00 PM
Please join us for our premier First Friday event of the semester!

Leading Toward Equity: Stories of Organizational Change

Friday, September 11, 2020
12-1 PM, MST

Equity. It’s a word that is on the minds of many people as we engage in a more public conversation about inequities in our culture, systems and society. In the School of Public Affairs, we explore social equity in terms of fairness, right, justice and freedom from the effects of bias.

As more organizations recognize the need to move beyond solidarity statements and into the work of creating more equitable policies and cultures, we bring together panelists who have been doing this organizational work for some time. We will hear and discuss stories of organizational transformation - big and small - from the nonprofit and private sectors. Our panelists bring powerful examples of leadership, perseverance, protest and change that organizations in any sector can embrace.

Panelists:

Maggie Gómez
Deputy Director
Center for Health Progress

Alicia Jessip
Inclusion and Diversity Manager
TEKSystems

Armando Martín
CEO, XL Edge and Board Chair
Servicios de La Raza

Joe Sammen
Executive Director
Center for Health Progress

Moderator:

John Ronquillo
Assistant Professor
CU Denver School of Public Affairs

This event will be recorded for those who are unable to attend.
