As the Senior Coordinator for International Programs, Scott Steinbrecher advises undergraduate and master’s international students, works with international PhD applicants during the application process, vets and assists Visiting Scholars before and during their stay, assists faculty with Study Abroad course questions and responds to queries from potential international applicants. He works extensively with the Office of International Affairs and CU Denver Advising offices.
One of the highlights of his work is planning and watching students execute the popular Korean de Tocqueville seminar that our graduating Korean Accelerated Master of Public Administration students hold in the spring.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Bicycle Classic at the CU Boulder Campus, the largest scholarship fundraising program in the state of Colorado and also serves as a throwing and pitching consultant for South Boulder Little League and has been a long-time CU-Boulder Track and Field Official where he dodges various implements (shots, hammers, pole vaults, etc.)
Prior to coming to the School of Public Affairs, he worked for a federal grant program for individuals with disabilities affiliated with the University Of Colorado School Of Medicine at the JFK Partners and also served as Planning Commissioner and President of the Library Board for the City of Lafayette, Colorado.
His Bachelor of Arts in Political Science is from CU-Boulder, and he holds a Master of Public Administration from the CU Denver School of Public Affairs.
When he doesn’t have his nose in a book, he’s either volunteering or if it involves a ball or stick he plays, coaches or watches it.
His shorthand motto is BBBG – in no particular order: books, baseball, bicycles and golf.
