William L. Swann’s interests span local government, public management and public policy. His research focuses on how local governments and their stakeholders foster more sustainable and healthier communities through their policy and program activities, collaborative arrangements and entrepreneurial strategies. His work can be found across some of the leading public administration, urban studies and public health journals. He has also studied performance management in Colorado state government in a project funded by the Colorado Evaluation and Action Lab at the University of Denver, and is partnered with The Schreiber Research Group to study local interventions and strategies for addressing opioid use disorder. He serves as the faculty advisor to the CU Denver International City/County Management Association (ICMA) Student Chapter. He teaches research methods, organizational management and behavior, financial management and intergovernmental management courses. He holds a BSBA in finance from Bryant University, an MPA from the University of Rhode Island and a PhD from the Askew School of Public Administration and Policy at Florida State University.
